IDF Strike Targets Hamas Military Chief Mohammed Deif

Israel carries out a large airstrike on Khan Younis targeting Mohammed Deif, the elusive commander of Hamas's military wing (Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades) and the primary planner of the October 7 attack. The strike kills at least 90 Palestinians. Israel announces weeks later that Deif was confirmed killed. Also killed is senior Hamas commander Rafa Salama. The strike is one of Israel's most significant targeted killings during the war.
