Exploding Pagers Kill 12, Wound 2,800 Hezbollah Members in Lebanon
Thousands of pagers used by Hezbollah members simultaneously explode across Lebanon, killing at least 12 people and wounding approximately 2,800. The next day, walkie-talkies explode, killing 20 more. Lebanon and Hezbollah blame Israel, which does not confirm responsibility. The operation is described as a remarkable intelligence achievement. The attacks accelerate Hezbollah-Israel hostilities that eventually lead to a Lebanon ceasefire in November 2024.
