US Reroutes Passengers from DRC, Uganda, South Sudan to 3 Airports for Ebola Screening

The US government announced that passengers arriving from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan would be rerouted through three designated US airports — Washington Dulles (Virginia), Dallas-Fort Worth (Texas), and Atlanta (Georgia) — for enhanced Ebola screening. The measure echoed protocols used during the 2014 West Africa epidemic, when a similar funneling system was established. The three airports have specialized public health screening capacity and quarantine facilities.
