Tshisekedi Signs Ordinance Creating National Dialogue Organization Committee

President Félix Tshisekedi signed an ordinance on Sept 13 establishing the Organization Committee for the National Dialogue on peace, cohesion and state "refoundation" that he launched Aug 28. The committee — a coordinator, deputy coordinator and members all appointed and removable by the president — is tasked with the dialogue's administrative, material and logistical preparation; its precise composition was not yet made public. The move comes two days before the opposition Coalition Article 64's planned Sept 15 march against Tshisekedi's constitutional referendum push, which critics say the dialogue is designed to help enable.
