Drone Strikes Hit Mwalu Hotel in Fizi-Centre, Wounding Two Civilians

Two TB2-type drones dropped bombs on the Mwalu Hotel in Fizi-Centre, South Kivu around 1 a.m. on Aug 19, seriously wounding two civilians, including the hotel manager, and causing heavy damage to the recently built hotel. FARDC's Sukola 2 South Kivu sector said the drones were piloted from Rwanda and called the strike a violation of international humanitarian law and the Washington Accords; attribution was not independently verified.
