DRC and Rwanda Hold Sixth JSCM Meeting in Geneva, Set October Planning Conference

DRC and Rwandan delegations, with the US, Qatar, Togo (as AU mediator) and the AU Commission, held the sixth Joint Security Coordination Mechanism meeting at the US Mission in Geneva. The two governments agreed to two new initiatives to strengthen monitoring and verification of Washington Accords implementation, and to a trilateral planning conference in October 2026 to produce a revised Operations Order. The DRC also presented its FDLR Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration plan, followed by a virtual session with MONUSCO on its DDR operational experience. The next JSCM session is set for Sep 16-17 in Geneva.
