EU Sanctions Rwandan Officials and M23 Leaders

The EU imposed asset freezes and travel bans on senior Rwandan officials — including the head of Rwanda's Mines, Petroleum and Gas Board — a gold-trading company, and several M23 leaders for their roles in the conflict and Congolese mineral trade. Rwanda responded by cutting diplomatic ties with Belgium.
