Socialist Constitution Adopted

Cuba adopted its first socialist constitution, formalizing the one-party state under the Communist Party. The constitution created the National Assembly of People's Power as the legislative body, with Fidel Castro as President of the Council of State, consolidating executive and party power. Approved by 97.7% in a referendum.
