Prosecutors Summon Beller and Businessman Jofré Azzarini for Advance-Proof Testimony in Cerimedo Case

| Bolivia Crisis

La Paz departmental prosecutor Luis Carlos Torres confirmed the Public Ministry summoned Nadia Beller and businessman Robin Luis Jofré Azzarini as witnesses in the illicit-enrichment and money-laundering case against Fernando Cerimedo. Because Beller cannot travel to La Paz for health reasons stemming from the Aug. 17 shooting, her testimony will be taken via an advance-proof procedure (prueba anticipada) in Santa Cruz the following week, with support from the Santa Cruz regional prosecutor's office. Separately, Beller confirmed the same week that she will also testify Sept. 23 before an Argentine prosecutor as a witness in an unrelated corruption case involving Argentina's disability agency (ANDIS), where Cerimedo is also implicated.
