ABB E-mobility Launches OM M-Series Modular Charging System Scaling to 1.2 MW

ABB E-mobility officially launched the OM M-Series, a modular air-cooled DC fast-charging platform that scales from 200 kW to 1.2 MW across 36 site configurations. The system supports CCS1, CCS2, NACS, and MCS (Megawatt Charging Standard for heavy trucks) from a single architecture, making it one of the first commercial platforms to span passenger EVs and Class 8 heavy-duty freight. Power cabinets are physically separated from dispenser heads, enabling dynamic power sharing across up to 24 charge points without requiring site electrical redesign. ABB framed the launch around optimizing cost-per-kWh delivered rather than peak nameplate power, positioning the system for fleet depots, highway corridors, and freight logistics hubs.
