China Mobile's 'Ling Xi' AI Robotic Guide Dog for the Blind Debuts at AI for Good Summit

Among the assistive-technology demonstrations at the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, China Mobile showcased Ling Xi, a phone-controlled robotic guide dog designed to help blind and visually impaired people navigate independently, priced at roughly $4,000 (about €3,500) per unit. The device was displayed alongside other accessibility-focused AI systems at the summit, including a brain-computer interface from Swiss firm Ability Neurotech that enables communication for people with ALS and spinal cord injuries. The demonstrations reflected a broader summit theme: AI-driven assistive devices — from robotic mobility aids to BCIs — moving from research prototypes toward commercially available products for people with disabilities.
