AI for Good Global Summit 2026 Opens in Geneva with Record 12,000+ Participants from 170 Countries

The ITU's seventh AI for Good Global Summit opened at Geneva's Palexpo convention centre on July 7, 2026 and ran through July 10, drawing more than 12,000 participants from 170 countries — a new attendance record — alongside the UN's first Global Dialogue on AI Governance, with 193 nations participating. The summit featured 1,000+ speakers, 300+ workshops and sessions, and 200+ exhibitors demonstrating robotics, embodied AI, geospatial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, and quantum technologies, with dedicated programming on healthcare diagnostics, agrifood resilience, and disaster early-warning systems. ITU's Fred Werner noted that 'AI agents are not waiting for our prompts, but they're actually acting on our behalf, autonomously' — reflecting the summit's new Focus Group on Agentic AI, announced to develop frameworks for trusted digital identity and accountable AI agent behavior. The summit also hosted the inaugural meeting of the AI for Good Global Commission (launched July 2) and the Robotics for Good Youth Challenge Grand Finale.
