Gunmen Attack Balochistan Home Minister's Convoy in Mastung, Seven Injured

| Afghanistan War

Unidentified gunmen ambushed the convoy of Balochistan Home and Tribal Affairs Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove at Kund Umarani in the Khad Koocha area, south of Mastung, as he travelled to Quetta from Kalat after attending an Independence Day ceremony. Security personnel exchanged fire with the attackers for around 20 minutes before they fled. Seven people, including three Anti-Terrorism Force personnel, were injured; the minister was unhurt. No group immediately claimed responsibility, though a Home Department aide alleged the convoy had been targeted by Fitna al-Hindustan (Pakistan's term for India-linked Baloch separatist networks).
