Yalta Conference — Big Three Shape Post-War World

| World War II

Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin met at Yalta in Crimea to plan the final defeat of Germany and design the post-war international order. Stalin secured control over Eastern Europe and a Soviet role in the Pacific war in exchange for agreeing to the United Nations. The agreements made at Yalta were contested as a Western betrayal of Eastern European nations.
