Bretton Woods Conference — Post-War Economic Order

44 Allied nations met at Bretton Woods, New Hampshire to design the post-war international monetary system. The conference created the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, and established the US dollar as the global reserve currency pegged to gold. The Bretton Woods system shaped global finance until 1971.
