UEFA and CONCACAF Demand FIFA Pay $2.1 Billion to Member Associations From Reserves

UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin and CONCACAF president Victor Montagliani sent a joint letter to FIFA president Gianni Infantino demanding a one-off release of at least $10 million to each of FIFA's 211 member associations — roughly $2.1 billion in total — from reserves the two confederations said would reach about $6 billion after the 2026 World Cup. The letter argued 'FIFA already has the capacity to deliver substantially more to its MAs from its own balance sheet — without any sale of interests in its competitions, and without asking anything of the MAs in return,' and called for an independent review of FIFA's finances with full access to the underlying figures and assumptions. The demand is the latest step by UEFA and CONCACAF to pressure Infantino after the collapse of his FIFA Forward Enterprise plan to sell World Cup commercial-rights stakes to private investors.
