German FA Vice-President Watzke: Infantino 'Must Go, No Ifs or Buts'

Hans-Joachim Watzke, a vice-president of the German Football Association (DFB), said at an artificial-intelligence festival in Berlin that Gianni Infantino must leave the FIFA presidency 'no ifs or buts.' Watzke cited three points against Infantino: the FIFA Peace Prize, launched by Infantino and awarded in December 2025 to US President Donald Trump; the reversal of American forward Folarin Balogun's automatic red-card suspension during the World Cup following a phone call from Trump to Infantino; and the FIFA Forward Enterprise plan, unveiled July 28 and dropped four days later, to open a new commercial entity to private investors. The DFB was among the few federations that had not signed a letter of support for Infantino's re-election.
