With the three-day pause on Section 338 tariffs set to expire at 12:01 a.m. ET Saturday, LeBlanc and Greer resumed talks in Washington Friday morning without a signed agreement in hand. Steel, aluminum and auto tariff cuts were reportedly close to final, but softwood lumber and agriculture remained unresolved; failure to close the deal in time would trigger the 50% tariffs on roughly $20 billion of Canadian goods including hockey sticks and wine.
