Auto Parts Industry Warns Any Deal Must Cut Tariffs Below 6%

Flavio Volpe, president of Canada's Automotive Parts Manufacturers' Association and a Team Canada trade adviser, warned that a 10-15% auto tariff 'does not work for car makers or parts makers' and that any durable deal needed rates below the industry's roughly 6% profit margin — after six decades of near-zero tariffs under NAFTA and USMCA.
