Greer: Canada Must Drop Retaliation or Face New Tariffs

Speaking at the Iowa State Fair, USTR Greer said Canada must scrap remaining retaliatory measures — including provincial bans on US alcohol sales — to avoid the Section 338 tariffs taking effect August 19. 'For us, this is not a trade war,' Greer said. 'If a country retaliates against us, we're obviously not going to tolerate that,' likening Canadian retaliation to Chinese trade tactics.
