Food-Safety Advocates Press FDA Over Lack of Import Alert on Taylor Farms

Food-safety watchdogs, including attorney Bill Marler and eFoodAlert, publicly question why FDA has not placed Taylor Farms de México or iceberg lettuce on an import alert requiring detention without physical examination at the border, despite the scale of the outbreak. FDA says its investigation, including the on-site Mexico inspection, remains open and has not resulted in an import alert as of mid-August.
