Washington State Reports 67 Cases, Mostly Travel-Linked
Washington State Department of Health reports 67 total cyclosporiasis cases since May 1 with 2 hospitalizations and no deaths. Of 65 interviewed cases, 42 had traveled to endemic countries (38 to Mexico); among 22 non-travelers, most had visited states with known outbreak activity, including two residents who contracted the illness after eating at a Taco Bell while visiting Michigan. Washington notes the recalled Taylor Farms lettuce was not distributed to the state.
