Supreme Court Declines to Block Texas App Store Age-Verification Law
The Supreme Court, in brief unsigned emergency-docket orders with no public dissents noted, denied requests from a youth advocacy group and the Computer & Communications Industry Association to reinstate a district court block on Texas's App Store Accountability Act (SB 2420). The law requires age verification and parental consent before minors can download apps or make in-app purchases. The Fifth Circuit had already stayed the lower-court block in June 2026; an expedited Fifth Circuit hearing on the underlying First Amendment questions is set for early August 2026.
