Russian Strike on Korosten Industrial Park Kills 2, Injures 2
Russian forces struck an industrial park in the Korosten district of Zhytomyr Oblast on the evening of September 17, killing two people and injuring two others who were hospitalized in moderate condition. Fires broke out in warehouse and production buildings; 56 firefighters and 17 fire appliances from the State Emergency Service, along with Ukrainian Red Cross rapid response volunteers, worked through the night to extinguish the blazes, which were out by the following morning. The head of the Zhytomyr Oblast Military Administration said 'a civilian business has once again come under enemy attack in Zhytomyr Oblast,' referencing a prior strike on the region's police headquarters in August. The strike came amid a wider overnight barrage that Ukrainian officials said killed 6 and injured 34 nationwide, including 93 strike drones (46 jet-powered) and Banderol and Dan-T cruise missiles, of which Ukrainian air defenses downed or jammed 69 drones and 3 missiles.
