Russian Attacks Kill 3, Injure 38 Nationwide as Drones Torch Zaporizhzhia Shopping Mall

Russian forces attacked Ukraine nationwide over September 6-7, killing at least 3 people and wounding 38 others, a day after US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner's inconclusive first visit to Kyiv for renewed peace talks. Ukraine's Air Force said Russia launched 92 attack drones overnight, of which 71 were shot down or intercepted. In Kherson, Russian artillery shelled the Dniprovskyi district around 10:30 a.m., killing a 65-year-old woman in her apartment; drone strikes injured 8 more residents of Kherson and Darivka, and a separate strike in Novovorontsovka wounded another civilian, bringing the oblast's toll to 2 killed and 14 wounded. In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, 1 person was killed and 6 wounded. Zaporizhzhia was hit by an overnight drone barrage that set a 700-square-meter shopping mall ablaze in six separate fires, injuring 2 people at a nearby parking area though officials reported no casualties at the mall itself; 40 rescuers and 10 units of equipment responded. Kharkiv Oblast reported 5 wounded (men aged 25, 47, 50, 52 and 69), Donetsk Oblast 7 wounded, Sumy Oblast 2 wounded from mortar and artillery shelling, and Odesa Oblast a drone hit on a house with no reported injuries.
