Russian Drones Strike Kyiv University Mid-Class, Damage Residential Building and Medical Facility
Russian attack drones struck the National University of Food Technology in Kyiv during class hours on the morning of September 2, the seventh consecutive day of near-constant Russian strikes on the capital. President Zelensky said 160 students were sheltering when the drone hit and none were injured. Separately, Russian drones damaged a six-story residential building and a medical facility in Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district and sparked a fire at an educational facility in Holosiivskyi district. At least 13 people were injured across the morning's strikes on three Kyiv districts. Overnight, Ukraine's air defenses neutralized 141 of the 174 weapons Russia used to attack the country. Separately, Ukraine's SBU and military intelligence (HUR) were involved in a shootout in Kyiv while investigating an alleged Russian FSB plot to attack a Russian opposition figure who had traveled to Kyiv for Ukraine's independence day.
