Russian Drone Strikes Kill Civilians in Kherson and Odesa Regions

Russian forces struck Kherson's Korabelnyi district on the morning of August 29; an FPV drone hit a civilian's car, and a 61-year-old man later died of blast and chest injuries despite reaching hospital. A separate Russian UAV attack on Kherson's Dniprovskyi district around 09:00 killed a 66-year-old man. Regional officials reported continuous shelling of the right bank of Kherson region overnight using artillery, drones, and guided glide bombs, striking Kherson city and 16 other settlements and wounding dozens more across the region. In Odesa region, a separate Russian attack killed 1 person and injured 3 others; trucks carrying food products caught fire. The strikes followed an overnight barrage in which Russia launched 2 missiles and 267 drones at Ukraine from the evening of August 28; Ukrainian air defenses downed or suppressed 233 of the drones.
