| Ukraine

Russian forces struck a private residential house in the Buryn community of Sumy Oblast with two attack drones in a targeted double strike early on August 14, killing a 29-year-old woman and her 9-year-old son and causing extensive destruction and a fire. Four others — including the boy's father and grandmother — were injured and hospitalized with severe burns, according to Sumy Regional Military Administration head Oleh Hryhorov. The strike came amid a broader wave of 39 Russian attacks on 28 Sumy Oblast settlements over the same 24-hour period, using guided aerial bombs, drones, artillery, and rocket systems.
