Parliament Confirms Koretskyi as PM as Protests Erupt Over Fedorov's Dismissal

| Ukraine

The Verkhovna Rada confirmed Serhii Koretskyi as Ukraine's new prime minister with 289 votes in favor. The vote was overshadowed by protests in Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, and Dnipro against the dismissal of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, with hundreds rallying near Kyiv's Ivan Franko National Theatre chanting 'Shame!' and carrying signs reading 'The Russians are celebrating.' Air force deputy commander Pavlo Yelizarov resigned in protest at Fedorov's removal.
