Ukraine's General Staff reported 141 combat engagements between Ukrainian and Russian forces in the 24 hours to May 4, 2026, maintaining the intense tempo of fighting seen in recent weeks. Russia deployed overwhelming firepower: 1 ballistic missile strike, 79 airstrikes delivering 254 guided aerial bombs (KABs), 9,870 kamikaze drones (FPV and loitering munitions), and 3,203 artillery shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas. The highest intensity of fighting remained in the Pokrovsk direction (Donetsk Oblast), with battles near Bilytske, Dorozhnye, Rodynske, Serhiyivka, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Muravka, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Molodetske. In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Russian airstrikes hit 17 locations including Vozdvyzhivka, Verkhnya Tersa, Novomykolayivka, Huliaipilske, and Orikhiv. Russian cumulative military losses since February 24, 2022 reached approximately 1,334,030 personnel (killed and wounded) according to Ukraine's General Staff, with approximately 1,080 casualties reported in the preceding 24-hour period.
