Ukraine's Navy Wins History's First Drone-vs-Drone Naval Battle in the Black Sea

| Ukraine War

Ukraine's Navy, operating jointly with military intelligence (HUR), said its Sargan 3000 uncrewed surface vessel destroyed a Russian unmanned MBeK-type boat in the Black Sea on September 12 — the first recorded battle in history between two uncrewed naval vessels. The Sargan 3000, armed with a 12.7mm Protector remote weapons station, opened fire from roughly one kilometer away; the Russian drone boat attempted to flee but was immobilized and destroyed. The engagement underscores the rapid expansion of unmanned warfare to the maritime domain in the Black Sea theater.
