Russian Missile Strikes Hit Zaporizhstal and ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih Steel Plants, Killing Two
Russian forces struck two of Ukraine's largest steel plants overnight into September 12. Four ballistic missiles hit the Zaporizhstal plant in Zaporizhzhia, operator Metinvest said, injuring four employees and causing what the company described as critical damage — the third ballistic missile strike on the plant in a month, after attacks on August 11 and August 27, and the plant had not resumed production from the prior strikes. Separately, a missile — assessed by Ukraine's Air Force as a likely Iskander-K — hit the ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih plant in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, killing two subcontractor employees and wounding four.
