Kherson City Liberated

Ukrainian forces entered Kherson city after Russian troops withdrew across the Dnipro River — the only regional capital Russia had captured since the 2022 invasion and the only one it subsequently abandoned. Residents celebrated in the streets. President Zelenskyy visited Kherson days later. Russian forces established a new defensive line on the east bank of the Dnipro and began shelling the liberated city almost immediately.
