House Adopts Burlison UAP Disclosure Amendment to FY2027 NDAA

The House adopted Rep. Eric Burlison's (R-MO) Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Disclosure Act as an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act, clearing a hurdle a similar amendment failed to reach during the FY2026 NDAA cycle. The amendment would create a permanent UAP Records Collection at the National Archives, establish an independent, Senate-confirmed UAP Records Review Board with subpoena authority to obtain records and testimony, extend disclosure requirements to government contractors holding relevant records, and require public disclosure of UAP records within 25 years unless the President certifies a specific national-security reason for delay. The measure still requires Senate concurrence before it can become law as part of the final NDAA.
