FEMOSPP Report Leaked — Names Díaz Ordaz, Echeverría for Genocide

| Tlatelolco 1968

A draft of the FEMOSPP's final report is leaked to the National Security Archive and published online before the official release. The 800-page report concludes that the massacres of 1968 (Tlatelolco) and 1971 (Halconazo) constitute genocide and crimes against humanity. It names President Díaz Ordaz and Interior Secretary Echeverría as primarily responsible for Tlatelolco, and Echeverría as primarily responsible for the Halconazo. The official final report, subsequently released, is shorter and less explicit, prompting accusations of political interference.
