Fox Creates FEMOSPP Special Prosecutor for 1968

President Vicente Fox creates the Fiscalía Especial para Movimientos Sociales y Políticos del Pasado (FEMOSPP), a special prosecutor's office to investigate the 1968 massacre and other political crimes of the 'dirty war.' Special Prosecutor Ignacio Carrillo Prieto is appointed. The creation of FEMOSPP is hailed as a historic step, the first formal government investigation into Tlatelolco.
