Cambodia's Foreign Ministry Protests Thai Trench-Digging Near Chouk Krous

Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation filed a formal protest saying Thai armed forces dispatched heavy machinery into Cambodian territory on August 22-24 to construct an earthen trench in the Chouk Krous area of Thmor Daun village, Kork Morn commune, Banteay Ampil district, Oddar Meanchey province. The ministry characterized the trench-digging as part of a broader pattern of border violations alongside PM Anutin's unauthorized August 23 visit to the nearby An Seh area, and demanded Thailand 'cease such activities,' reaffirming that Cambodia is committed to resolving the dispute 'exclusively through peaceful means and in accordance with international law.'
