Anutin Shrugs Off Cambodian Call to Arrest Him Over Border Visit

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul dismissed calls from Cambodia -- including a Phnom Penh Post commentary urging Cambodian authorities to file charges and seek an arrest warrant -- over his August 23 visit to the disputed Chong An Ma/An Seh border area. Anutin said he 'acted lawfully and in line with the December 2025 Joint Statement,' stating: 'I followed the law. I have the Joint Statement, signed by the leaders of both countries.' Air Chief Marshal Praphas Sornchaidee, Joint Information Center director, added that 'inspecting and encouraging security personnel is not the same as demarcating a border.'
