Chad Accuses Sudanese Army of Cross-Border Strike on RSF-Linked Convoy in Ennedi-Est Province

Chad's General Staff said on August 23, 2026 that Sudanese army aircraft and drones struck a convoy of vehicles inside Chadian territory on the evening of August 20 — more than 100km from the Sudan border, in the Mourdi department of the remote Ennedi-Est province. Gen. Abakar Abdelkerim Daoud, Chief of the General Staff of the Chadian Armed Forces, said the strikes began on Sudanese soil before continuing over 100 kilometers inside Chad, targeting what Sudanese sources described as a resupply convoy of roughly 200 RSF-linked combat vehicles, fuel trucks, and military supply vehicles moving from Kufra, Libya toward Darfur. No Chadian casualties were reported. Chad placed its military on high alert, warned all parties to Sudan's war against spilling the conflict across its border, and said it reserved the right to defend its territorial integrity.
