Emergency Lawyers Accuses SAF of Killing Civilians Northeast of Jabra El Sheikh

The Emergency Lawyers group reported that Sudanese Armed Forces personnel in an armed military vehicle killed at least five civilians and wounded more than 10 others northeast of Jabra El Sheikh (Jabrat al-Shaikh), North Kordofan, on August 12, 2026, targeting farmers, shepherds, and other unarmed civilians in their homes, farms, and grazing grounds. No active combat was reported in the area at the time of the incident. Among the dead were Sheikh Awadallah Abdullah and his son; soldiers reportedly detained several other civilians before withdrawing. The legal group said the incident could constitute a war crime and called for an independent investigation.
