Hemedti Vows Renewed Push on Khartoum, Turns to Tribal Mobilization After Kordofan Losses
Following a video released July 30, 2026 showing RSF commander Mohamed Hamdan 'Hemedti' Dagalo ordering his forces to seize Khartoum, Hemedti addressed a gathering of RSF fighters on July 31 and called on supporters to assemble new fighters for a renewed offensive toward the capital while also announcing a mobilization drive for operations in Kordofan. The appeal came after a string of SAF victories in North Kordofan, including the retaking of the Al Sadarat/Export road corridor. Media close to the RSF reported that tribal leaders in Darfur — including a prominent Fur leader in South Darfur who pledged four combat brigades after a Hemedti visit to Nyala — responded to the mobilization call, signaling a strategic shift from foreign mercenary reliance toward tribal recruitment to replenish RSF ranks.
