SAF Drone Strikes on Abu Zabad and Wad Banda Markets Kill at Least 40

Drone strikes attributed to the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) on markets in the West Kordofan towns of Abu Zabad and Wad Banda killed at least 40 civilians. The strikes continued the SAF's intensified air campaign in RSF-held areas of Kordofan, drawing international condemnation. OHCHR documented at least 152 civilians killed in SAF drone strikes in West Kordofan alone in the first two weeks of March 2026.
