Military Coup Ousts Civilian Government

SAF Commander Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and RSF Chief Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti) jointly led a coup against the transitional civilian government, arresting Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok and dissolving the Sovereignty Council. The coup was widely condemned internationally and triggered mass pro-democracy protests across Sudan.
