Starlink 17-27: B1082's 21st Flight Extends Back-to-Back Launch Streak
SpaceX launched Starlink Group 17-27 at 9:29:49 p.m. PDT on April 14 (12:29:49 a.m. EDT / 04:29:49 UTC on April 15, 2026) from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. The mission carried 25 Starlink V2 Mini Optimized satellites to sun-synchronous orbit, building out Starlink's polar-orbit shell. The Falcon 9 first stage was B1082, making its 21st flight — a booster that entered the SpaceX fleet in January 2024 and has flown 17 previous dedicated Starlink missions plus additional national security and commercial payloads. Following booster separation, B1082 executed a nominal entry burn and landed on the drone ship 'Of Course I Still Love You' (OCISLY) in the Pacific Ocean. This landing — the 599th total Falcon booster recovery in SpaceX history — set up a tantalizing milestone: the next booster recovery is poised to be the historic 600th. The Starlink 17-27 mission was SpaceX's 47th orbital launch of 2026, and the two launches (Starlink 10-24 on April 14 and this mission) occurred just 19 hours apart on opposite coasts — showcasing SpaceX's unmatched operational tempo across two separate launch sites.
