Drone Strike Hits Residence of Opposition-Aligned General 'Shub' in Doolow, Sparking Turkey-Blame Row

Two missiles struck the Doolow, Gedo region compound of Gen. Mahad Abdirahman Aden ('Taliye Shub'), the former commander of Somalia's Custodial Corps and a military figure aligned with ousted Southwest State president Laftagareen, overnight between September 3 and 4, 2026; a third projectile reportedly landed near the residence of the Doolow district commissioner. Jubbaland's regional administration accused Turkish military aircraft/drones of carrying out the strike and called it a war crime, saying Gen. Shub, his wife and two other family members sustained shrapnel wounds.
