Day 749: Mechanic Shot Dead Outside His Home in Culiacán's Finisterra Neighborhood

A man identified by neighbors as Carlos, a 58-year-old mechanic, was shot and killed around 5:20–5:30 PM on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, on Calle Ignacio Manuel Altamirano between Ernesto Damy and Geovanni Zamudio streets, in the Finisterra subdivision of the Infonavit Barrancos sector, southern Culiacán — near the Mi Plaza Barrancos commercial zone. Two young men dressed in dark clothing arrived on a motorcycle and shot him multiple times at close range before fleeing. Neighbors reported the gunfire to 911; paramedics arrived minutes later and confirmed he had no vital signs. A gray Chevrolet Spark was secured at the scene as evidence. No arrests have been reported.
