Mexico's federal security cabinet reported that a three-day deployment (August 7–9, 2026) of the Mexican Army, National Guard, Navy (SEMAR), SSPC and State Police across six Sinaloa municipalities — Concordia, Mazatlán, San Ignacio, Navolato, Culiacán, and Ahome — resulted in 52 detentions. Seizures included 46 firearms (41 long guns, 4 handguns, 1 machine gun), 428 magazines, roughly 12,282 rounds of ammunition, 36 tactical vests, 21 ballistic plates, 5 grenades, and 2 improvised explosive devices. In Culiacán, three methamphetamine concentration sites were disabled, with roughly 2,942 liters and 375 kilograms of precursor chemicals secured; officers also seized about 29 kilograms of methamphetamine in Culiacán and marijuana, cocaine and crystal doses in Mazatlán, plus eight vehicles (several reported stolen) and three motorcycles. Two criminal encampments were dismantled in Mazatlán. The cabinet estimated the operation inflicted roughly 62 million pesos in economic damage on organized crime. No casualties were reported.
