Day 744: Man Executed Outside Oxxo Convenience Store in Culiacán
An unidentified man was shot multiple times and killed on the night of August 6, 2026, outside an Oxxo convenience store at the intersection of Avenida Revolución and Calle Plan de Iguala in Culiacán. Assailants arrived without warning and opened fire at the store's main entrance; the victim fell fatally wounded on the pavement. Heavy rain at the time of the attack complicated the forensic investigation. No suspects were identified or detained. The Fiscalía General del Estado opened an investigation file and transferred the body to the Servicio Médico Forense (Semefo) for autopsy. No faction attribution has been made, but the killing adds to the sustained pattern of daily targeted violence in Culiacán tied to the Chapitos–La Mayiza conflict.
