Day 742: TikTok Influencer César Gastélum Shot Dead Mid-Livestream Outside Culiacán KFC

Content creator César Gastélum, 25 (TikTok: 'Cesarín,' ~600,000 followers, 22M+ likes), was shot in the head and killed around 8:15 PM on August 4, 2026, while livestreaming from the parking lot of a KFC in the Tres Ríos development, Culiacán. He was filming a 'Rappi delivery' comedy challenge on the Kick platform with two collaborators, dressed as delivery workers, when two men on a white Honda motorcycle approached; one gunman shot him at close range and both fled. The attack was captured live and the footage went viral within hours, drawing national attention including comment from President Claudia Sheinbaum, who linked the killing to the ongoing Chapitos–La Mayiza violence gripping Culiacán.
