Mexico-US USMCA Bilateral Review Talks Formally Begin
Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard met with U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer in Washington, marking the official launch of formal bilateral talks ahead of the USMCA review. Ebrard stated the first round of formally established conversations was agreed with a view to the USMCA review. Mexico's key priorities entering talks include removal of U.S. tariffs on automotive, steel, and aluminum. Canada is expected to join the process in May. The review's outcome will determine whether the treaty is extended to 2042 or enters annual renegotiations.
